6/6/06 Wei Bin's Departure From the US
Wei Bin will be leaving Texas to return to China on Wednesday, June 14th. She has her final orthodontic and reconstructive surgery
appointments on Thursday, June 8th. She is rather sad about leaving, as are we. We have been working and working on trying to pare down her
belongings to fit into two suitcases. I think that we will probably have to ship some things to her.
It will be a busy time over the next week. The international student group at our church, First Baptist of Denton,
is having a farewell dinner for her on Wednesday, June 7th. The Dallas Chinese Bible Church is having a goodbye for her on Sunday, June 11th.
We appreciate all of your concern and support for Wei Bin during her 2 1/2 years in Texas.
She is looking pretty good, but her right eye refuses to stay open. Dr. Genecov did surgery on it again on May 15th,
and as with the previous surgery in March, the eye was fully open and functioning after surgery. It has gradually closed, but is still very swollen.
Dr. Genecov says that she has very poor lymphatic drainage in that area due to her previous surgeries in China.
It will probably take at least 6 months for the swelling to be gone. I keep going back to the original photos of her in 2001, prior to any surgeries,
and there is a world of difference. Orphan Allies is extremely grateful
to Dr. Genecov for his committment to Wei Bin.
Thank you for your concern for Wei Bin.
