Please Help Change her life forever
 Help Finish a Miracle

She had the misfortune to be born into poverty and in a country where being a female and having a deformity evident at birth made it impossible for her biological parents to provide for her. She was abandoned, and her infancy, childhood, and young adult life were passed away in the Hefei Children’s Welfare Institution, Anhui Province,
People’s Republic of China.

Because her facial deformity was so horrendous and the reactions of people in the general public so extreme and uncomfortable for her, she rarely left the confines of the orphanage. She did not receive a formal education as the director of the neighborhood school said that she was too ugly to attend school. When she got too old for the orphanage, the kind orphanage director allowed her to stay on at the orphanage to care for the ever increasing number of babies at the orphanage. She worked 7 days a week, 365 days a year, 12 hour shifts, for a bed, food, and a salary equivalent to $10 in the United States.

Her life was monotonous and without hope until in 2001, when Orphan Allies, started working with her orphanage for medical sponsorship of the children there. The orphanage director asked if Orphan Allies could help this girl, known as Wei Bin. Arrangements and funding were made for Wei Bin to have extensive reconstructive surgery in Shanghai, Surgery was done twice, but the final outcome was not satisfactory.

Dr. David Genecov of the World Craniofacial Foundation in Dallas was approached about Wei Bin, and he agreed to treat her. Wei Bin arrived in the United States on January 8, 2004, along with two other children coming for surgery. Since that time, she has undergone 3 surgeries and bone grafts and been under orthodontic treatment.

The plan is for her to have the facial reconstruction surgery in January, 2006, at Medical City in Dallas.

In July, 2005, Dr. Genecov was informed that the had hospital had gone back on their commitment to provide Wei Bin’s surgery free of charge, and his office began negotiating with the hospital for a much reduced fee for cash payment of the surgery.

In November, 2005, Medical City gave the cost to Dr. Genecov’s office, which is $25,000, which must be paid BEFORE the surgery. Orphan Allies does not have financial resources to pay for this surgery.

Orphan Allies is asking for your help, in any amount, to finish this miracle for Wei Bin. It is imperative that she have the facial reconstructive surgery in January, as her humanitarian parole expires in June, 2006, and we have no visa options to have her remain in the US past that time.

All donations are tax-deductible. 100% of your donation will go towards this surgery.
